Christmas Activities ~ Part 1

We had a busy but very fun December! I wanted to do some fun things for the kids but still keep Christ as the Reason for the Season! So I did a countdown to Christmas we started on Dec. 1st and we always had a section of scriptures to read and most some days a fun little activity we could do! We also had a snowman that the kids could move his candy cane from one day to the next and Carter loved being able to see the days go by and the candy cane getting closer to Christmas! He was very excited for it this year! After the scriptures he had the Christmas story basically memorized and if you asked him why we really celebrate Christmas he would say Jesus' Birthday! So I feel like we accomplished out goal!
Helping Grandma Wallin set up Christmas at her house!
The kids found Santa's hat!
They make very cute Santa helpers!
Baylee visiting Santa with Santa Mickey and his reindeer!
We have had our tree since the day after Thanksgiving but we didn't get it decorated till about the 2nd of December!
Opening their Christmas box! We started this tradition last year and I love it! The kids have fun opening a present at the first of December!
Helping each other open it up!
Baylee really took to opening presents this year! She loved it and when she was done she would ask for more!
Finding the good stuff!
They each got Christmas pj's, a movie and books to share!
Carter was most excited about the movie! Mickey's Christmas One and Two!
Baylee was more excited about the books!
Our countdown on the right side of the pic and the kids getting ready to read the books!
In their pj's!
The next day I caught the two of them reading books by the tree! They are so cute and best friends!
This day we made rice crispies!
They were such great helpers!
Eating it was their main priority! I can't see why it wouldn't be!
We made Santa and snowman rice crispy treats! They had fun decorating them!
Baylee pouring on the sprinkles!
Very proud of her work!
Carter still hard at work!
Decorating his snowman now!
Isaac had a basketball tournament up in Richfield the first week in December, the place they held it had about 30 huge Christmas trees and Santa's chair!
They kids thought they were pretty neat sitting in it!
When we got home from Richfield we headed to my Mom and Dad's ward party so the kids could dit on Santa's lap!
Carter was not afraid at all! A little shy but he snapped out of it quick!
Baylee was really shy but she didn't scream so I guess it was a win!
Making a snowman pizza!
The kids did most all the work! We had a lot of cheese!
Ta-da!
I think it turned out great and tasted yummy to!
Writing letters to Santa!
They wanted to do it themselves!
Carter asked for a Transformer Bumblebee and Marshall from Paw Patrol that can come out (out of his fire truck)!
Baylee asked for a Kitchen!
After they were done we put them on the kids tree, just a little one I let them decorate and play with so they don't play with the nice one, and left them there so the elves could come pick them up that night! A few nights after the kids wrote their letters Santa wrote back and had his elves put them on their tree for the kids and in the morning when they found them they were pretty excited Santa wrote back!
Reading stories with Grandpa!
One day we made "Mistletoes"!
Baylee's feet! She wasn't so sure about the paint on her feet!
Carter's feet!
We also made reindeer with our hands!
Carter's hands!
Baylee's hands!
