I was due on May 7, 2015 but with my history Dr. Lunt scheduled to induce me on April 30th! We thought for sure they would call first thing in the morning so we made arrangements with my Mom that she would take our kids the night before and we would just give her a call when things were close! Well I couldn't sleep that night and the morning came and went and I still had received a phone call so we headed over to my Mom's house and played with the kids and asked how their sleepover was! We waited what it seemed like forever and at 2:20 p.m. on April 30th we finally got the call to come down! We gave Carter and Baylee hugs and headed out the door! Right after we drove past the Ledges we got another phone call, so just a little before 3, telling us we were postponed because they had an emergency come in and they couldn't take us right then so to wait for another phone call! I was so tired at this point from not sleeping well and being up since 5 a.m. and I was way discouraged because was get antsy to get things going so I could meet this cute little man finally! So McKay took me to Dairy Queen to get a blizzard and one for Sam the birthday girl then we headed over to her house to kill time! I was happy I got to visit with her on her birthday so it all worked out! We finally got a call at 7:00 p.m. so we headed over quickly so they didn't have a chance to call us again and postpone! We got settled in our room and they started pitocin at 8:30 p.m.! I have never not been started due to my circumstances with 2 of my babies so I have longer labors! Hadlee was 15 hours, Carter was 13 hours, Baylee was 11 hours and Owen was 11 hours as well!
They broke my water at 9:45 p.m.!
I got an epidural at 1:30 a.m., I tried so hard to go as long as I could but at that point I was only like at a 4 and knew it could still take forever because my body is never easy!
Owen was being a little difficult, he wasn't faced the correct way he was sideways almost looking up so that's why things weren't progressing very quickly!
The epidural wasn't working correctly! Surprise, surprise it didn't work correctly with Carter either! It must be the boys! It took some of the edge off the abdominal area, thank heavens, but the part that sucks is that I had one leg completely dead and the other I could move around and feel everything! So that was an annoying having the different sensations in my legs! I wish I could have just felt both of them and only had the edge off my abdominal area but we dealt!
Finally at 6:00 a.m. I was at a 9, complete and a -1!
As I was pushing he finally flipped head down and came flying out!
Owen Gunnar Jones was born at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015
Owen is a named we have like most the pregnancy and the first pregnancy we had picked out before the baby was born! We kinda got it from one of McKay's mission companions! Gunnar is a family name after Owen's Grandpa Wallin and Great Grandpa Wallin!
I have done this 4 times now and I still get as emotionally as the first! The instant love you feel for such a perfect little human and I swear I feel closer to my Savior as if he hand delivers my babies to me! The feeling is indescribable!
He had the most perfect cry, it was quiet and sweet and the most joyous sound!
He got to do skin to skin with Mom for an hour before they took him for measurements!
Owen weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. my biggest baby yet!
He was 20 inches long!
Just the most perfect bundle of LOVE!
He was a pro at eating!
Snuggling with Mom!
About the only time he has taken a binky!
Enjoying time with Dad!
Finally meeting brother and sister! They couldn't believe he was finally out of my tummy! They were starting to lose hope that he would never come!
Baylee just wanted to Mommy him right from the time she laid eyes on him!
She couldn't quit giving kisses!
Oh he is very loved!
Grandma Wallin and Owen
Carter said he needed to take pics! Sometimes we need proof Mom exists because I am always behind the camera!
Eating a huge donut!
I have the worst angle of this pic but I absolutely love it! Baylee is holding Owen and she has her arm around Carter! She has some awesome brothers that will be looking out for her over the years!
Carter and Grandpa Wallin
Carter thought this phone looking thing was so cool because you could hear the t.v. while you talked! Haha!
The kids started getting a little restless so Grandma took them to Sam's house to play for a while! Which left time for Mom and Owen!
Look at those features! He has the most perfect little nose, and mouth and you can see a little fat crease in the leg already!
Cute little ears!
He loves his sleep!
Meeting Josie!
Meeting Olivia!
Meeting Maddie!
These girls are so awesome! They even brought the most adorable outfit and treats! They sure know how to spoil us!
To tired after eating!
These pictures don't show it very well but this poor kid had the most swollen and bruised purple head!
All that redness under the hair is bruising!
Grandma came back with the kids later in the afternoon and McKay took them to walk around the temple while Grandma, Sam and Ellie stayed to visit!
Ellie couldn't stop looking at him!
These two cousins are 5 months apart!
1st family picture! It was the best we could get!
Owen and Sam! Almost birthday buddies!
Ellie just wants Owen!
Playing a little game on Dad's bed!
You can see the bruising better in this pic! You can see at the top of his head almost to his forehead the line of normal skin color and the purple and then right around the blanket the chunk of skin kinda bulging out is all swelling!
Grandma didn't want to give him up!
Neither did Baylee! If Baylee was int he room she wanted to hold him!
Our visitors left right after visiting hours were finished up! Grandma Wallin took the kids to Grandma Jones house to spend the night so she could go watch Isaac's track meet at BYU!
Owen slept like a champ during the night only waking up once! It seems like that first night after birth, at least with my kids, they sleep the best because of the exhausting day of arriving into this world and visitors!
Gave me his first smile as I was talking to him! People will say it's just gas but I know this was a sincere smile! He knew Mommy needed it! I get all these emotions of Hadlee every time I give birth and then when they come out so perfect I can't help but be overwhelmed with gratefulness towards my Heavenly Father who has given me the most amazing kids and blessed me with the opportunity to be a Mom! It's the best gift in the world!
Plus he has been non-stop smiles since day one!
Exhausted!
All dressed and ready to go home!
He looks just like Carter at this age!
He is so little in there!
So they made me stay the night even though I had him so early in the morning! I was bummed because I felt great and I knew we would have the mess of the Ironman to work through on Saturday! It took us longer to get home by 30 minutes but we made it and it felt so good to be home with everyone!
