It is a long post Ill warn you now... but this is my journal/scrapbook so I want everything on here!
After my family went to cousins camp this year we headed straight to Flaming Gorge! My family went there a lot when we were little but it has been a long time since we went, so as our summer vacation before life started we headed up there and had the time of our lives! We really enjoyed it!
Just driving up to the lake and about to go under kissing bridge!... (it's not really called kissing bridge it is just my family has always called it!) That is also my parents in front of us! We took our own car!Found our camping spot at the famous Mustang Ridge and getting ready to set up the tent trailer! Our camp! Sam and Scott decided to sleep in the tent with the food and clothes we shoved in there and the rest of us were in the tent trailer of course! The night we got there us kids decided to go fishing! So this is McKay filling up the bobber!Kay and Isaac fishing! The next day we took the Dam Tour!... always interesting! Kay (goofball I know), Isaac and Scott overlooking the dam!The Dam...At the end of the tour when you are all the way to the bottom by the river you get to feed the fish! There are tons... because they know thats where the food is and they are big and they wrestle over the food when you throw it in! Pretty funny!McKay eating lunch! That night we went fishing again this time right below the dam on the side of the Green River!
The boys waiting before the trek down! Kay thinks he is pretty funny!...So I told my family when we started this trip that no one ever catches fish when I go fishing with them! Sure enough no luck these first couple times!
Kay and I about to catch us some fish... beautiful river!
Kay about to go find the snake Isaac ran away screaming from!...Found the snake and was poking at it with his big stick!...Dad casting his line!...Kay and I decided to head up the river a bit! So here is my dad, mom, Isaac and Scott chillin' on the fishing dock!Kay casting his line!... yes he is standing in the water... it's freezing!!!... He usually is a super big wimp when it comes to water that is not 90 degrees! He usually won't get in... and he almost fell casting off his line... haha to bad!!!The next day we rented a raft and rafted the river! I was so excited for this day!!! Us unloading the raft!...The whole family went the first time down... it takes about 2 1/2 - 3 hours! Had so much fun! Jumped in a few different times... threw some people in a few different times... rocked the boat... almost got high centered on a rock... but of course McKay chickened out and wouldn't get in and my family was to afraid to throw him in!!! Lame!
The next trip just the kids went! We again jumped in a few times... went down a few rapids backwards just for fun... Isaac fished off the back... and we did a lot of circles... but of course McKay chickened out again and my family was lame again... so Kay still never got in the water!
Us kids starting our trek!!!At the end of the rafting trip you only have two chances to get to the boat ramp to get out... well us kids were being silly and missed the first one hit a huge rapid just after that almost threw McKay out of the boat and then we tried hard to catch the second one and barely did! Oh good laughs!!!
The next day we set up camp on the beach in a little cove off the lake and just swam the rowed around in the raft and tube we brought!
Kay being a wimp and my dad had just jumped in!!!Scott and Sam paddling around the cove!!!YEAH!!! Kay finally got in... Isaac, me and my dad just chilling!...Isaac stuck in the middle on the tube...McKay and I went and picked up Isaac...Then us ditching Isaac cause he was being silly!!!Skipping rocks...McKay, dad and mom sleeping under the canopy while I am trying to catch some sun!!!After we got back from swimming on the shore McKay and I showered packed up and left to get back to Enterprise for the 24th of July! My family stayed an extra day! On our way out McKay and I stopped at a lookout and got a picture of part of the lake and the bridge! BEAUTIFUL!!!
I just love Flaming Gorge and family vacations! Yeah for fun times!!! Yes they fished the night we left and caught two! Told you I was bad luck!!!
