...Days 9-13...

Day 9

Sunday May 5, 2013
Today we all headed over to the hospital and spent some time with Baylee taking turns seeing her and chasing Carter around! Baylee was doing well this day and nothing big happened!
Carter found a wagon! He just wanted to be pushed around all day!
My family all left including McKay and Carter leaving me up there all alone which was hard for me and yes I bawled for the first hour after they left! It did get easier but I still didn't enjoy it! So Baylee and I spent lots of time together whether she wanted me there or not she was stuck with me!

Day 10

Monday May 6, 2013
Still not much of a change! Her scar seemed to be healing really well! She was not acting in pain anymore! She had some visitors my Uncle and Aunt, Gary and Faith, and my cousins Alex and Thomas! I would get there in the mornings anywhere from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. stay for a couple hours, go pump, go eat, go visit till shift change, eat dinner, go back and visit till 10:00 or midnight and go back and sleep! I didn't have mush to do besides laundry every so often and so I spent a lot of time in the NICU and I am sure nurses were sick of me because I would also do her cares every 3 hours and that took away some of thier responsibilities!

Day 11

Tuesday May 7, 2013
She had some visitors! Her Great Grandpa and Grandma Wallin and Great Aunt Kat came! It was nice to have visitors for both Baylee and I!
Great Aunt Kat
Also this night she got another ultrasound of her intestines, stomach and to make sure there were no blockages because she was still putting so much out in her Anderson tube! They wanted to make sure things were being processed! She hated being on her belly!

Day 12

Wednesday May 8, 2013
Lookin cute as always! Still wearing the socks on her hands so she doesn't pull out the tubes with those long fingers!
This day she also got updated to a big girl crib! This crib was so much easier to do her cares and get her in and out of!

Day 13

Thursday May 9th, 2013
Getting excited for Dad and Carter to come back!
They finally made it and we were so happy to see them! We really missed them! Grandma Wallin brought them up! This weekend was also State Softball! We missed todays games but they won both games they played!
Enjoying each other!
Chilling at the hotel room! So much better for kids to run around and be loud in!

...Day 7&8..

Day 7

Friday May 3, 2013
Grandpa Wallin's birthday so we had to call and tell him Happy Birthday since he had no one to celebrate with!
My Mom went to the hospital and stayed with Baylee for a while and Carter, McKay and I headed to the Hogle Zoo! Carter loves animals and loves being outside so this was a great day for him! Especially since the animals were in a very show-off mode that day! They all were out and active! The last 2 times we went they all were just sitting around or inside so we couldn't see them!
He loved the elephants... the one they were looking at was very active and kept walking towards us and Carter just thought that was so awesome!
He loved the seals and sea lions! They were swimming all over and jumping in and out of the water!
Loved being able to see them underwater!
The rhino was right up to the window, the polar bear was even out and he kept pacing back and forth and then would jump in the water to cool off and jump out again and Carter couldn't quit saying more, more!
There was these 3 bears and the two in the water were playing, hitting each other, dunking and biting each other, it was so fun to watch and the one on the log stood and watched and every once in a while we thought he would jump in but he never did! Carter kept saying JUMP, JUMP but he wouldn't listen and it made Carter a little frustrated that he wouldn't jump!
There were 4 giraffes out all eating and walking back and forth! Carter loved how big they were!
Carter had to ride the carousel! He picked the wolf because he has always loved them! Probably because the wolf is a big thing here in Enterprise given that it is the school mascot!
Love these two boys!
After a fun filled morning/afternoon at the zoo we grabbed some lunch and headed to the hospital!
Well a lot happened this day with Baylee! She was still having the ventilator do most the breathing for her and the doctors didn't want to keep it on to long because she could attract a lot of different things like sicknesses so they decided to just pull it in hopes that she would just do fine breathing on her own! So they yanked it and she did fine! So she got off the ventilator this day! She had stayed pretty drugged up until this day and today they started giving her smaller doses and would give more if they felt she was in pain!
Looking so much better off the ventilator!
So the small yellow tube is NJ tube(feeding tube) that they placed just past the surgical site into the intestines! The bigger white and yellow tube is the NG tube that went to her stomach and was suctioning out all the fluids that were building up since the surgical site was all swollen and still to tender!
Spending time with my girl!
Wide awake for Dad!
During shift change we took Carter to the park and waited until we could go back!
Putting all the pinecones out for sale!
After shift change was through we headed back over where McKay and my Mom went to see Baylee and I went to get Carter some dinner from the cafeteria!

Day 8

Saturday May 4, 2013
We headed straight to the hospital!
Walking in the South entrance of PCMC!
They decided to cut back again on her medication and only give it if we felt she was in pain! Up to this point she seemed to be doing really well!
Carter helping her with the binky!
This isn't the greatest picture but I love how he is just intently looking at her and examining her! Carter truly loves sister so much!
During the night they placed a PICC line in, it's basically an IV but with less risk of infection and better! It is placed on her forearm and its threaded thru the vein just about to her heart! She did really well getting it they usually have to give a relaxant but she didn't need one and she didn't even cry at all for them!
My tired girl!
She also met Uncle Issac for the first time! She seemed to really like him holding her!
This night she was getting her cares done and seemed to be in a lot of pain! It was so hard to watch and I just ached for her and was wishing I could take it all away! I just felt sick to my stomach so my Mom called her brother and he headed over to the hospital and he helped McKay give her a blessing! I am so extremely grateful for the gospel and especially the Priesthood and that my husband is a worthy Priesthood holder and that I have so many men in my life that are worthy of that gift! They ended up giving her some medicine and she never looked like she was in pain again! They ended up stopping the medicine the next afternoon and she still did great off of it! I know the Lord blessed her with the strength she needed and I needed to get through this!
She also got to wear clothes for the first time!
